Chapitre 5: BTN (GTO)

This chapter is much less complex than the previous ones.

The vast majority of your decisions will occur when the stacks are between 10 and 25 BB, and especially around 25 BB.

👉 That’s the depth range you should focus your learning efforts on.

🤝 GTO and Exploitative Charts: Almost Identical on the Button

GTO charts on the BTN are very close to the exploitative ones.

In fact, to master the Exploitative Strategy (next chapter), you mainly need to understand the GTO charts and apply two simple adjustments when the Big Blind (BB) is a recreational player:

  • Open slightly wider: Recreational players 3-bet less frequently, so you can open a bit looser from the Button.
  • Adjust your shove range: but be patient, you’ll get more details on this in Chapter 6.
For more details, feel free to read the Strategy Guide for the Button!

In summary: The BTN is a simple position to study. The GTO strategy provides a solid foundation, and by applying a few small adjustments versus recreational players, you can maximize your profit from this spot.
